When Technology Rewrites Who Gets to Speak

Morning beehiivcommunity! This newsletter turns experience into lessons you can apply to your startup. As a growth partner for visionary founders, we help sharpen leadership skills and unlock growth potential.

How New Tools Rewire Power and Truth

Gutenberg's movable-type printing press in the 15th century slashed the cost and time of producing books. It broke the church's monopoly on knowledge and fueled mass literacy, religious upheaval, and political dissent.

But the press had a dark side. The 1487 book Malleus Maleficarum spread witch-hunting paranoia across Europe. Today's descendant of print, social media, enables anyone to create widespread narratives that may or may not be true or helpful.

In the future, as voices explode and gatekeepers collapse, trust will become the true scarcity. A few credible curators will gain outsized influence. Founders who recognize trust and reliability as rare commodities will feel the wind at their backs.

This new section, called Go Wide: A Life Less Curated, offers a two-minute exploration of surprising moments from the past, their impact today, and their potential implications for tomorrow. It serves as an antidote to algorithms and echo chambers by revealing how major historical events impacted the world and might shape what comes next.

Expert Tips for Startups

Travel Better in 2026

From founder and friend Allison Amini, here are sharper, more intentional travel resolutions for 2026.

  • Let flights serve the trip, not steer it. Book your itinerary around the experiences you want, then find flights that fit, not the other way around.

  • Respect peak season. High-demand dates book fast and cost more, so planning early preserves your options.

  • Make your itinerary realistic. Fewer stops, more presence. Build routes that let you actually enjoy where you are instead of racing through.

  • Know the “why.” Is this a reset, an adventure, a reunion, or a celebration? Name the purpose first, then every activity and reservation flows from that.

When you plan thoughtfully and realistically, travel becomes smoother and far more memorable.
